What is Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation?
Ultrasonic fat cavitation refers to the use of ultrasound technology to break down fat cells under our skin. The vibrations caused by ultrasound exert a pressure high enough to break down the fat cells into a liquid form. These fat cells are then eliminated by our own natural body processes. It is a non invasive and FDA approved treatment to remove localized fat without the need for surgery.
How is it different from Fat Freezing Treatment?
Both HIFU Body Fat Reduction and ultrasonic fat cavitation are methods used for localized fat removal. As the name suggests, HIFU Body Fat Reduction uses ultrasound energy to break down the fat cells. It can be a little uncomfortable to some patients and therefore numb cream is often used. After HIFU, the treated skin may appear pink and felt sore for a few days to a week. Unlike HIFU, Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation is a comfortable and relaxing procedure. There is lesser downtime for this treatment and thus better accepted by patients who have lower pain tolerance.
Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation can also be used on denser fat tissue or areas which are less responsive to HIFU treatment. It can also be used as a combination therapy with HIFU Body Fat Reduction, electromagnetic muscle trainer and radiofrequency skin tightening to achieve a more sculpted body contour.

Who is suitable for Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation?
It is suitable for healthy patients who have localized fat tissue on body areas such as the abdomen, flanks, hips and thighs. This procedure is not performed on the head, neck or bony parts of the body. Similar to HIFU Body Fat Reduction, this treatment should not be viewed as a weight loss program. It only targets subcutaneous fat under our skin but does not remove visceral fat around our internal organs. Therefore, it does not reduce your health risks to obesity related diseases if your BMI (Basal Metabolic Index) is in the unhealthy range.
When will I see results from Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation?
You may not see results after your first treatment. However, you should expect to see noticeable reduction on your third or fourth treatment. Results will gradually improve with each consecutive treatment. Most patients require an average of 6 to 8 weekly sessions to see significant improvement. Though individual results may vary.

What will I expect during the procedure?
The procedure is relatively safe and performed by a trained therapist. You will need to remove your personal jewelry before the treatment begins. Then, we will cleanse your skin thoroughly and apply a transparent gel on top. You will feel a gentle warm sensation as the hand piece goes in a firm circular motion on your body. Overall, it feels like a comfortable massage and is well tolerated by most patients.
Is there any downtime after the procedure?
It is common to experience mild redness after the procedure. At the same time, your skin may appear to be a little more sensitive than usual for a day or two. Otherwise, there is minimal downtime and you can resume your usual activities right after the treatment.
How do you monitor my progress after procedure?
We will take serial photos of your skin throughout the treatment sessions. Hence, we are able to monitor your progress and compare outcomes. We will keep your photos secured within our medical records database.
Are there any persons who are unsuitable for Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation treatment?
You will not be suitable if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have recent diagnosis of cancer or untreated epilepsy. This procedure is not recommended for those fitted with a heart pacemaker or have metal implants in their body. For safety reasons, we would also avoid treatment over broken or infected skin.
