Skin whitening for your face

Why is Skin Whitening popular?

Skin whitening treatment is in high demand in Asian countries. Many wanted a fairer skin tone as this is deemed to be more beautiful. In the past, some patients have resorted to whitening injections. These treatments involve the slow infusion of whitening agents such as Glutathione and Vitamin C into the blood stream. These inhibit the synthesis of melanin – the main culprit for uneven skin tone and excess pigment in our skin.

However in recent years, whitening injections are banned in Singapore due to its health risks. Since then, there is a growing interest to develop newer and safer treatments to achieve the same whitening effect.

Derma White Skin Program

At Arium Clinic, we have formulated a holistic skincare program which targets at melanin at multi levels. Our Perfect Clear 3 Step Program is a customized treatment which uses pigment laser to breakdown excessive melanin. We combine this with Arium Essentials Skincare and skin whitening supplements to enhance the skin whitening result.

Our signature whitening injection – Derma White Skin Booster delivers a custom blend of hyaluronic acid and whitening agents, including arbutin, kojic acid, vitamin C, glutathione and tranexamic acid directly to our skin, without the side effects of intravenous injection.

When can I see the effect of skin whitening?

This depends on the type of pigmentation you have and your chosen program. For laser treatments, you may start to see improvement between 3 to 6 monthly treatments. The result is more visible if you are consistent with sun protection, prescribed skincare and take skin supplements regularly.

For Derma White Skin Booster, you will start to see initial improvement after a single injection. It is recommended to complete a course of 3 – 6 monthly treatments for best effect.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Who is suitable for Skin Whitening Treatment?

It is suitable for patients of all ages who want brighter skin tone and to treat stubborn pigmentation such as freckles, sun age spots and melasma.

How is the Derma White Skin Booster performed?

We will apply numb cream to your cleansed face for about 15 minutes. After that, our doctor will then perform micro-injection into the skin using a fine needle. The procedure is generally well tolerated by most patients.

Is there any downtime to Derma White Skin Booster?

You will see tiny bumps on the skin for 1-2 days. The swelling should subside by day 3 or so. Some patients may experience mild bruising at some injection sites. This is usually temporary and should heal within a few days.

Is it recommended to use lightening cream and take oral skin supplements?

We recommend our patients to use Arium Essentials Perfect Clear in conjunction with Derma White Skin Program for optimal results. This is a gentle lightening cream to reduce skin melanin production by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase. Our doctor may also prescribe oral skin supplements for whitening treatment. This helps to target melanin synthesis at multi levels.
