Suitable for intimate areas such as bikini lines

What is Lady Intimate Brightening?

This is a laser and light based program which aims to lighten the colour of intimate areas such as the under arms, bikini areas and darkened skin folds between the thighs or behind the knees. This program is gentle and safe for intimate areas.

What causes darkening of intimate areas?

The skin over our intimate areas is most sensitive to hormone changes. During puberty, pregnancy and menopause, our hormone levels will increase leading to darkening over such areas. In addition, repeated trauma from waxing, shaving and daily skin rubbing will increase the activity of melanocytes (pigment cells). As time goes by, our intimate areas will appear darker as we grow older.

Can you lighten the colour of these areas?

You can prevent further darkening of intimate areas by reducing friction or choosing laser hair removal treatments instead of shaving. The use of a good lightening cream with moisturizer also reduce the activity of the melanocytes. Lady intimate brightening program will help to increase the breakdown of melanin under the skin.

When will I see results from treatment?

You may notice slight improvement after first treatment. It is advisable to return for treatment every 3-4 weeks. It takes at least 5 to 6 sessions of peel to see good progress.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What will I expect during Lady Intimate Brightening?

Before we begin the procedure, we will cleanse and dry your skin. During the procedure, we will target the darkened skin with the use of laser and light. You may feel a slight tinging sensation. There is no need for numb cream. The whole procedure will take between 10 – 15 minutes.

Is there any downtime after treatment?

It is common to experience mild redness after the laser. Your skin may appear to be a little more sensitive than usual for a day or two. Otherwise, there is no downtime and you can resume work right after the treatment.

Can you combine other treatment with Lady Intimate Brightening?

Depends on your condition, our doctor may recommend lightening cream to use as a home care treatment. We may advise you to avoid waxing or shaving the same area to prevent worsening of the pigmentation. If necessary, you can also consider laser hair removal treatments for more permanent hair reduction.

Will the darkening recurs after I stop treatment?

It depends on your type of pigmentation and its cause. Some patients are more prone to develop pigmentary problems than others. Long term maintenance of your skin is important to prevent recurrence. Some patients may also continue Lady Intimate Brightening as part of their maintenance regime.

Are there any persons who are unsuitable for Lady Intimate Brightening?

We would not recommend the peel if there is ezcema, sun burn or broken skin over the area. It is also not suitable for patients who are currently pregnant as their pigment may continue darken due to their hormonal changes.
